may the force be with you

The guys from the Legoland Football Club picked up my tweet and were up for a party.

Who knows why they all have star wars outfits, but they did look great.  Lego-me just had to try on one of those stormtrooper helmets … and didn’t want to give it back – so cool.

May the force be with you !

[167/365]  Day 16 in the Month of Minifigs

i’ve come to suck your blood

After Bella arrived on her own in her phlebotomist outfit, I thought that her boyfriend Edward couldn’t make it and she was going to party alone, but they were just having a bit of fun with Lego-me.  As Bella joined the rest of the guests, Edward crept in the side door and up behind Lego-me to scare the hell out of him, and there was no better costume to do it in than dressed as Dracula.

“I’ve come to suck your blood” he said as he got close up behind me, causing me to jump a mile.

[166/365]  Day 15 in the Month of Minifigs.

phlebotomist

A cool name for a very ordinary job … yes, I know some people might love it, and they are required, but I just can’t understand the desire to work in a job where you stick needles in people all day to draw out their blood.

Bella has always been into the darker side of life and all that kind of thing, so this is actually a little more reserved that I expected from her, but very clever all the same.

[165/365]  Only 200 days to go !   Day 14 in the Month of Minifigs.

a toy story

Some of Lego-me’s friends are very talented and creative … like these two, who decided to come to the party as Buzz and Woody. [Ironic really, after all, this is a 'toy story']

‘To infinity and beyond’ Buzz yelled at the top of his voice as he came through the door, attracting everyone’s attention – well almost everyone.  It seems that the Hoff wasn’t happy with Pam, after all even her looks can’t make up for her acting ability, so he was keen to meet the twins to see if they had any talents that would be a good addition to the next Baywatch series.

[164/365]  Day 13 in the Month of Minifigs.

ice dance

With the crisis averted, I was able to get back to greet the guests as they arrived.

Now I should have guessed this … Connie had been eye’ing off Legoland’s new ice skating rink for the last week, so it was only logical that she’d come to the party as a figure skater.  Not sure whether she’s Kwan, Yamaguchi, Witt or Kerrigan (hopefully not Harding, I don’t need any more incidents tonight), but either way, she’s certainly dressed the part, and even in the absence of ice, can pull off some impressive moves.

[163/365]  Day 12 in the month of minifigs

oh no

Just as Lego-me’s sister Julia arrived (in the purple surfgirl costume she’d got specially for the night) he spotted a potential disaster looming in the background – he couldn’t stay to greet her, sorry – this could get messy, very very messy.

You see, the twins had hardly got inside and they were being surrounded by the science boys – sure, the boys might have dreamed about being at the same party as the twins, but this was reality and they had 5 hours of klingon cocktails under their belts to give the extra ‘courage’ – even still, there was no way the girls were going to be impressed with 3 nerds in astronaut costumes (albeit authentic 30 year old lego spacesuits).

[162/365]

tweet tweet

Lego-me’s tweet worked perfectly to get some of the cool crowd to his party, with the Martin Twins arriving shortly after he hit post.  Everyone knows they are always up for a party, and love to dress to impress, so their custom made, and of course, identical, cheerleader outfits are sure to get some attention. “tweet! tweet!”

[161/365]

need new friends

“oh boy, i need some new friends”, Lego-me thought to himself as his friend Joseph arrived in his dwarf costume, complete with orange longbeard.  First the science boys as astronauts, the Buddy as an elf, and now a dwarf.

Lego-me was starting to see a pattern.  Worried about where the party was heading, picturing a bunch of thirty-something geeks sitting around playing dungeons and dragons, he jumped on twitter to try to get a few of the ‘cool crowd’ to show up.

[160/365]  Day 9 in the Month of Minifigs

i am the ringmaster of this circus

Lego-me finally got a chance to slip away and put on his own costume … the ringmaster of this little circus.

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages… welcome !”

[159/365]

i’m an elf

Not many people know it but elves aren’t secretive creatures, in fact they are usually the life of the party, they love to have fun, albeit sometimes a little mischievous fun, and are wonderful musicians.  That’s why Buddy just had to come as an elf.   What Lego-me can’t understand is why he keeps saying “I just like to smile! Smiling’s my favorite.”

[158/365]

konichiwa

“Konichiwa, Mr Lego-me”, they said as they arrived.  ”Welcome”, Lego-me replied, “thank you for coming to my party.  I hope you have a great time.”

Lego-me’s friends had been learning japanese before their upcoming ski holiday, and thought that they’d get into the spirit by turning japanese for the night …. a great selection of outfits, a beautiful kimono for the geisha, and sumo has been training his whole life to get his body right for a night like this.

[157/365]  Day 6 in the Month of Minifigs

baywatch

Lego-me has some whacky friends, but really, was anyone expecting Pam and the Hoff to make an appearance ?

It is the start of winter down here in Australia, so it’s a little brave (or silly) to go out at night dressed in your swimmers, but it’s great to have them at the party.

p.s. surf livesavers do a wonderful job, protecting all that live or visit Australia and enjoy our beaches.  If you have a few dollars spare, please donate to help them them keep saving us all.

[156/365]  Day 5 in the ‘Month of Minifigs’

clowning around

You can’t have a party without entertainment … and what’s better than a clown?  They are wacky, funny and hours of enjoyment for all ages.  Circue du Soleil aren’t in town, Bozo had a TV gig to do, so Lego-me had to settle for the local clown ‘Lego the Clown’.

Food … check, Entertainment … check, that means it’s party time !

[155/365]

masterchef

The chef arrived to start cooking for the party.  He’s got a lot of work to do to feed the whole crowd once they all arrive.

While the other guests are still a few hours away, the science boys entertain themselves with a few games of rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock.

[154/365]  #3 in the month of minifigs

early arrivals

Everyone loves fancy dress parties … but 4 hours early ???

I know the science boys don’t get invited to parties very often, and were clearly very excited to bust out their matching astronaut costumes …. but did they really need to arrive this early ?

[153/365]  #2 in the month of minifigs

announcement

Lego-me proudly announces …..

… it’s the Month of Minifigs.  Lego-me has invited all of his mini mates over for a fun filled, month long party of legoland proportions.  By who will show up ?  Stay tuned to find out.

pirates v ninjas

After the recent viking v samurai battle (where I think samurai would win hands down), today is round two in the lightcube fighting arena … pirates v ninjas.

In a fight to the death, which one will take it out ?

snowboarding

snowboarding legoToday was hot (33C / 92 f) and very humid.  It made me thing about a few shots I’ve seen recently from some flickr’ers on the other side of the world, surrounded by beautiful cold  snow ….. but then again, Queensland is a beautiful place !

nb:  Given the lack of snow around locally, this little snow bunny is shoosing it up down a slope of lemon sorbet.
